ArmInfo. On January 25, 2024, the Anti-Corruption Court accepted the 98th claim for confiscation of property of illegal origin. This time, the supervisory authority demands the confiscation of property from former Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan and persons affiliated with her.
According to the information, the Department for Confiscation of Illegally Obtained Property of the General Prosecutor's Office submitted to the court a request for confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia of 301 million 218 thousand drams as the balance of illegal funds, representing the amount resulting from the transformation or use of property of illegal origin; 567 million 396 thousand Armenian drams, which is not confirmed by the legal income of the person, is of illegal origin and cannot be confiscated, since it was transferred to a bona fide purchaser and/or cannot be identified; participation in 1 legal entity; 3 million 331 thousand drams - the right of claim arising from the loan; 4 million 863 thousand drams is the market value of the car that previously belonged to the former minister.
On December 22, 2021, the former Minister of Culture of Armenia Hasmik Poghosyan was put on the wanted list and arrested in absentia "in the case of AOKS, which also involved the former Ambassador of Armenia to Israel Armen Smbatyan. At the beginning of October 2023, the AOKS building in the center of Yerevan was returned to the state as a result of a settlement agreement between the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia and the shareholders of the "AOKS" LLC.
