ArmInfo.The head of the RA Mission to the European Union, Ambassador Tigran Balayan took part in a round table, which was attended by permanent representatives of EU member states, ambassadors of the Political and Security Committee, high-ranking representatives of the European Union, the European Commission and the European External Action Service.
As reported on the Facebook page of the Armenian Ambassador to Brussels, the meeting was organized by the Permanent Representative of Greece to the European Union, Ambassador Ioannis Vrailas, and was a continuation of the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan in the meeting of the EU External Relations Council on December 11, 2023.
During the discussion, Ambassador Balayan presented Armenia's vision regarding the prospects for deepening its partnership with the EU in accordance with the decisions of the EU Council. He touched upon ideas and proposals aimed at expanding Armenia-EU relations, which will serve the ultimate goal of bringing the partnership with the EU to a qualitatively new level.
The meeting participants expressed full support for Armenia's reforms and peace agenda and promised to continue cooperation in this direction.
During the opening speech and question and answer session, Ambassador Balayan also presented Armenia's position regarding the establishment of lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
The Armenian Ambassador spoke in detail about the causes and consequences of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, highlighting the deep-rooted sense of impunity in Baku, which two days ago became even more obvious due to the aggressive, threatening and provocative statements of the Azerbaijani President, which threatened to destabilize the already fragile situation.
