ArmInfo. Joint programs to improve children's health and nutrition will continue. Regional Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Regina De Dominicis stated on December 20 at a meeting with the Minister of Health of Armenia Anahit Avanesyan, the press service of the RA Ministry of Health reports.
During the meeting, Anahit Avanesyan especially noted the importance of the work of pediatric mobile teams. Largely thanks to their efforts, the state of health and nutrition of more than 5,000 forcibly displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh has been assessed, about 3,000 children were sent to primary health care institutions, and psychological support and counseling were provided. The meeting identified priority areas for cooperation, including access to mental health services through primary health care, nutrition of infants and children, promotion of healthy lifestyles, support for the immunization program, and the development and application of guidelines for managing hospitals during the spread of diseases.
