ArmInfo.Official Tskhinvali has responded to Armenian Premier Nikol Pashinyan's statement on possible recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia as occupied territories.
President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, reacting to Nikol Pashinyan's statement made during a conversation with citizens, said in particular: "We respect the Armenian people, with whom we have centuries-old friendly relations, but we are not interested in the opinion of the Prime Minister of Armenia, who left Nagorno-Karabakh in a difficult situation. He betrayed his own people, mostly Armenians by nationality, who were expecting help from Armenia. Pashinyan did not find the courage to recognize the independence of Artsakh. We are not interested in the opinion of such politicians. Today, South Ossetia is recognized by the Russian Federation and a number of other countries have an independent state and everyone should take this into account."
Pashinyan, during a live broadcast on November 24, answering the question of whether Armenia is ready to recognize Abkhazia and Ossetia as occupied territories, said that Armenia fully and unequivocally defends the unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, independence, democracy, and statehood of Georgia.
"The results of Armenia's voting at the UN before and after 2019 recorded very visible and definite differences, in connection with which the representatives of our fraternal state - Georgia - expressed satisfaction"
