ArmInfo. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President Pia Kauma exchanged views on the situation in the South Caucasus and the role of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly at the meeting in Baku.
According to the press service of the Azerbaijani President, Aliyev assured that new realities had already emerged in the South Caucasus and boasted of aggression against Artsakh. Then, according to tradition, he began to accuse Armenia of not fulfilling the supposed points of the statement of November 9, 2020. Although in fact, it is only Azerbaijan that does not fulfill any point of this statement, continuing to hold Armenian servicemen and civilians captive, occupying the entire territory of Artsakh, seizing over 150 thousand square kilometers of sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia, etc.
"Currently, there are very good opportunities for a peace agenda in the region. Azerbaijan is a supporter of sustainable peace in the South Caucasus and supports the regional peace agenda, the normalization of relations and the signing of a peace treaty with Armenia," he noted.
Then he spoke about the settlement of Azerbaijanis in Armenia, but did not say a word about the rights of more than 500 thousand Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, it was noted that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly can become an effective platform for building trust between the delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
