The 5th republican conference on the topic "Modern challenges and opportunities for the development of the military industry of Armenia" was held at the National Research University of the RA Ministry of Defense. This year it has also been organized jointly by the National Research University of the RA Ministry of Defense and the RA Academy of Public Administration.
According to the press service of the University, the main purpose of the conference was to discuss new challenges in the development of the military industry of Armenia, obstacles to development and possible ways to overcome them. For the fifth year now, the scientific conference has served as an effective platform for government agencies interested in the development of the industry, representatives of the scientific, military-scientific and business communities to present their vision of the development of the industry and discuss possibilities for solving problems related to this.
The opening speech of the conference was made by the head of the National Defense Research University of the RA Ministry of Defense, Major General Gennady Tavaratsyan, who emphasized the importance of the conference from the point of view of presenting effective proposals for the development of the industry to the military-political leadership. In turn, Gagik Harutyunyan, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the RA Ministry of Defense, scientist-analyst of the group of strategic games and modeling of the RA Ministry of Defense, emphasized that the development of the military industry for Armenia can simultaneously solve two important problems: economic development and security, and therefore has ontological significance for the state.
During the conference, a scientific report was made by Ph.D. M. Markosyan on the topic "Modeling military operations as a means of choosing directions for the development of the military industry"; Ph.D. R. Vardanyan on the topic "Modern solar photovoltaic converters used in the armed forces and the possibilities of organizing their production"; researcher at the Institute for Applied Policy Research, military analyst L. Nersisyan on the topic "New opportunities for the Armenian military industry in the context of the entry of Western weapons components into the market"; Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Head of the Research Center "Alternative" T. Manaseryan on the topic "Opportunities provided by cooperation between the state, the private sector and the expert community in the development of the military industry of the Republic of Armenia"; Candidate of Legal Sciences, Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors N. Sargsyan on the topic "Consideration of the military industry as a locomotive for the development of the Armenian economy."
Based on observations, opinions and recommendations expressed during the conference, summarized results in the form of recommendations for the development of the industry will be presented to the relevant government authorities.
