ArmInfo. Official Moscow is extremely outraged by yesterday's speech by the Prime Minister of Armenia at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The pro-state media, represented by the RIA Novost agency, today, citing a "high-ranking source" who, as a rule, represents the office of the head of the Russian state, described the speech of the head of the Armenian government as "provocative".
"We regard the speech of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in the European Parliament on October 17 as absolutely irresponsible and provocative, especially as it relates to Russia and Russian- Armenian relations," RIA Novosti wrote with reference to the so-called source. The source emphasized that Moscow sees attempts to turn Armenia into "Ukraine number three," if Moldova is considered "Ukraine number two." At the same time, Pashinyan is "taking leaps and bounds along the path of Volodymyr Zelenskiy."
In his Strasbourg speech yesterday, Pashinyan noted that "despite the hundreds of alarms and decisions of the International Court of Justice, the European Parliament, the PACE, the parliaments of individual countries, the calls of executive bodies, the international community, and all of us, all of us, were unable to prevent the ethnic cleansing of Armenians in Nagorno- Karabakh," Pashinyan said." He reminded that three sessions of the UN Security Council were held, which did not yield results. As a result, all the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh left their homes.
"In the conditions of inactivity of the Russian peacekeeping forces, more than 100 thousand Armenians left their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh in a week, another 20 thousand were forced to leave Nagorno-Karabakh immediately after the 44-day war, and some were not able to return home due to the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor," he said.
Today, some are pretending that they do not understand why the Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh left their homes en masse, he noted. "Such a question looks like cynicism, because the answer is more than clear - Azerbaijan had clearly and unequivocally shown its decision to make the life of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh impossible. Since December 2022, during the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh have been deprived of external supplies of gas, electricity, food, baby food, medicine and other essential items. The citizens carrying out agricultural work were under the target of the gun of the armed forces of Azerbaijan," Pashinyan said.
