Spokesperson of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan, told ArmInfo, in response to the request to comment on the media reports about Vyacheslav Ponomarev, the deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs representation in Armenia, being found dead at his workplace.
As the Spokesperson of the RA Investigative Committee said, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of Part 1 of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (murder). He added that according to the new Criminal Code, in all such cases of death, criminal proceedings are initiated precisely on the basis of this article, which does not mean at all that the main version is murder.
"An external examination of the corpse was carried out - no traces of violence were found. According to preliminary data, we are dealing with a sudden death. A forensic examination has been appointed, based on its results the causes and circumstances of death will be clear," Abrahamyan noted.
