ArmInfo. At the invitation of the 1st Vice-President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Jiri Drahos, the delegation led by the RA NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan is on a working visit to Prague on October 8-10.
On October 9, the delegation led by Hakob Arshakyan was received by the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Milos Vystrcill .
The RA NA Vice President introduced the situation created by the military attack by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19, which led to the ethnic cleansing of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Reference was made to the aggressive policy pursued by Azerbaijan against the territorial integrity of Armenia, as a result of which around 150 square kilometers of Armenia are occupied. "The peace agenda has no alternative in our region: We have adopted the path of peace and democracy, we are firm in our choice and expect the support of international partners", the RA NA Vice President mentioned.
They also touched upon the provision of proper assistance to those forcibly displaced from Nagorno- Karabakh and the work with international partners in that direction. Hakob Arshakyan thanked the Czech Government for the humanitarian aid provided.
The President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Milos Vystrcil welcomed the resolution adopted by the European Parliament recently, which condemns the actions of the armed forces of Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh. The President of the Senate expressed support for Armenia's territorial integrity, sovereignty and democracy.
The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan and the member of the RA NA Armenia-Czech Republic Friendship Group Hasmik Hakobyan are in the delegation.
