ArmInfo.On September 25, a delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation headed by Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev arrived in Armenia on a two-day working visit. RA Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan met the delegation at Zvartnots airport.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, on the same day a meeting of the joint board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia was held in Yerevan, which was attended by delegation headed by Vladimir Kolokoltsev, with the participation of Vahe Ghazaryan.
The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Bureau for Coordination of the Fight against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime in the Territories of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States Oleg Konovalov. In his opening speech, Vahe Ghazaryan emphasized that the joint board of the two Ministries continues to be an important mechanism for increasing the effectiveness of the joint fight against crime. At meetings of the board, all issues and problems of interest to the parties are discussed, and concrete steps are jointly developed towards improving the crime situation in both states, as well as countering modern threats and challenges. At the end of his speech, Vahe Ghazaryan expressed hope that the decisions made at the Yerevan meeting of the joint board will raise the effective interaction of the two departments to a new level. At the meeting of the joint board, Vladimir Kolokoltsev also made a welcoming speech. He congratulated the Armenian side on Independence Day and spoke about the cooperation between the two law enforcement agencies, the work done and planned measures in the fight against crime.
After the speech, the meeting participants moved on to discuss the proposed problems. The agenda included the following issues: the state of cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia in the field of combating crimes committed using information and communication technologies; improving the interaction of expert and forensic units of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia; draft work plan of the Joint Board of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia for 2025.
Officials of the relevant bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia made presentations on the issues on the agenda. After a substantive discussion of the issues, specific decisions were made. At the end, the final documents of the meeting of the Joint Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia were signed.
