This is evidenced by the results of the regular poll of the MPG consulting company (the official representative of the Gallup International Association in Armenia), on the upcoming elections to the Council of Elders - "Night falls... The city falls asleep."
Of the total number of respondents, the current deputy mayor, the actual head of the mayor's office, Tigran Avinyan (from the Civil Contract party), received the most public support, 15.1% of respondents are ready to vote for him. He is followed by ex-mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan (National Progress Party) with the support of 9.6% of the votes and Andranik Tevanyan (Mother Armenia bloc of parties) - 3.8%. At the same time, 38.3% of the respondents found it difficult to answer, and 19.2% refused to answer at all. Least of all, Yerevan residents are ready to support Nelly Harutyunyan (The power of the Fatherland ), Arman Ghukasyan ("For Social Justice"), Tigran Khzmalyan (European Party of Armenia), Suren Petrosyan (Democratic Consolidation) and Yervand Tarverdyan (United Armenia). 0.2% of respondents are ready to vote for each of them. Artak Zeynalyan (Republic Party) has 3% of the votes among those polled, Artak Galstyan (Public Voice Party) - 2.7%, Mane Tandilyan (Country of Living ) - 2.5%, David Khazhakyan (Lusavor Hayastan) - 2.2%, Viktor Mnatsakanyan (Victory Party) - 1.5% and Norik Norikyan (Fair Armenia) - 1.2%.
Only 23.2% of those polled are familiar with the election campaigns of the political forces of Armenia participating in the elections to the metropolitan municipality. Of these, 47.1% studied the electoral programs of the Civil Contract, 17.6% - Country of Living , 14.4% - National Progress, 9.6% - Mother Armenia bloc of parties, 8.6 % - Republic Party, least of all the survey participants were interested in the activities of the European Party of Armenia and Democratic Consolidation. Meanwhile, almost half (42.8%) of respondents got acquainted with the election programs through television, 35.3% - through social networks, 16% - through booklets, 12.8% - during meetings with candidates outside or during community rallies, 5.3% - through advertising in the media. And only 0.8% got acquainted with the election campaign of a particular party through their official websites. At the same time, only 4% of the total number of respondents are ready to take part in meetings with the declared candidates from one party or another. Of these, 57.6% expressed a desire to meet with the candidate from the Civil Contract Tigran Avinyan, 12.1% - with Mane Tandilyan (Country of Living , 9.1% - with Andranik Tevanyan (Mother Armenia bloc of parties). ), 6.1% - Norik Norikyan (Fair Armenia), with Hayk Marutyan (National Progress party), and with David Khazhakyan (Lusavor Hayastan) and Artak Zeynalyan (Republic party) - 3% each.
Of the respondents, only 21.7% came across an agitation campaign of political forces participating in the elections to the metropolitan municipality, which were mainly held in outside or during community rallies. 17.1% of respondents got acquainted with the campaign of candidates through television, 13.1% - social networks, 6.3% - through information on posters, booklets, 4.6% - on billboards, 2.3% - through advertising in the media.

This MPG survey also presents the opinion of Yerevan residents regarding the main problems of the city. So, as a result of the study, it became clear that the urgent problem for the residents of the capital is the problem of garbage disposal. This opinion is shared by 38.8% of respondents. 28.4% - concerned about transport issues, 14.3% - road quality, 12.9%- lack of parks, recreation areas, 12.2% - consider the issue of inflation unresolved, 8.2% - air pollution, 8% - indicated problems with water supply. The issue of cultural development worries Yerevan residents least of all.
The survey was conducted through telephone calls to residents of Yerevan in the period from August 28 to 30, 2023, the sample size was 805 people, the sampling error was +/- 3.5%.
