ArmInfo. The Hayaqve initiative intends to submit the collected signatures to the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia on August 31 at 11:00 a.m.. This is stated in the message of the Initiative.
As ArmInfo previously reported, on June 20, the Central Election Commission granted the petition of the Hayaqve civil legislative initiative to organize the collection of 50,000 signatures and submit a legislative initiative to the National Assembly, and 300,000 signatures if it is rejected by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. A 60-day period was determined for the collection of signatures - from June 21 to August 19, 2023. The initiative group submitted a corresponding petition to the CEC on June 12, in which it came up with an initiative to change the legislation, which provided for severe punishment for refusing self- determination of Nagorno-Karabakh and belittling the Armenian Genocide. Before the transfer of documents, the authors of the initiative managed to collect 58,000 signatures in three weeks.
"Join us, let's hand over the results of our joint decision together, we will be the owners of our signatures," Hayaqve said in a message on its Facebook page, also calling to gather in front of the RA CEC building on August 31.
