ArmInfo.Former state minister of Artsakh, philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan made a statement in which he sharply criticized current president of the NKR Arayik Harutyunyan.
During a live broadcast from Hakobavank monastery, he noted that he continues to work with dozens of people on the restoration of the monastery. "We are here with an important mission of restoring our monastery. A monastery is not only a building, it is faith, hope, love. And I am sure that we will do everything to restore these values in our society, to make them fundamental in overcoming the challenges facing our people," Vardanyan said.
In this vein, the politician stated that Artsakh is facing serious challenges, which are caused not only by the actions of the enemy, but also by internal governance. Vardanyan added that he would like to address with sincere words the person who bears the greatest responsibility for the current situation - NKR President Arayik Harutyunyan.
"Six months ago, when I left the post of state minister of Artsakh, I said that if the president is really ready to fight, ready to become the leader and supreme commander for our compatriots in Artsakh, Armenia and the Diaspora, then we should all stand next to him and support him in overcoming difficulties. Today, from Hakobavank, I want to tell Harutyunyan, who bears great responsibility for what is happening to us today - Harutyunyan, you could not become either a leader or a supreme commander, and this is due to your behavior," the philanthropist said, adding that one cannot deceive society forever.
" You believe that you can control everyone with money and position, you are wrong, Arayik. You are wrong ... Your words are empty. At the beginning of the week, you assured that you would resign, and you do not need to be persuaded, since you have already made a decision. At the meeting, which was attended by 8 people, many did not believe you. And you made it so that no one believes the words of the head of state, that your words are empty," Vardanyan noted, adding that sooner or later he will be asked all the uncomfortable questions that the people of Artsakh have had all this time.
He accused Harutyunyan of lying and manipulation. "We have met more than once. Yes, you consider ideology, values, human relations to be secondary: It's irritating , I feel sorry for you, because it's cruel to live in such realities. You say, look Ruben, I deceived ten times, rolled, made promises and did not hold back and no one said anything, and who can tell me what to say, because the power bodies are in my hands, the power is in my hands, the street is in my hands, the money is in my hands - who can tell me anything, " - the politician added, stating that society is partly to blame, which allowed Harutyunyan to behave this way and did not require explanation.
At the same time, he accused the President of Artsakh of crossing the last "red line" against the people of Artsakh last week, of destroying state institutions, which, for better or worse, were built by different people over the past 35 years in Artsakh.
The politician added that Harutyunyan had been seeking his resignation from the post of State Minister of Artsakh since December last year, as he was afraid that he would take people out into the street. Vardanyan added that Harutyunyan will have to answer for what he did to the people of Artsakh, and when they ask him, he will stand next to these people. Vardanyan accused Harutyunyan of breaking faith in people in Artsakh, the desire to fight, faith in people.
"I am sure that the crisis gives us the opportunity to realize our rightness and mistakes, return to our principles and build our ideology, our strategy based on these principles. And our job is restore not only the monastery, but also the faith, and the hospital, and the school, and the shelter. Learn how to use weapons, help children get an education, take pregnant women to the hospital, help the poor, prevent them from dying of hunger, and much more to make people feel they are not alone.
Today, people work in Hakobavank who feel that they are not alone, who are doing a very important thing together, they are building the future of Armenian Artsakh together today. And this is our greatest strength," Vardanyan summed up.
