ArmInfo. The "Armenia" opposition faction of the RA National Assembly sent a letter to the  International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as to inter-parliamentary commissions and international organizations on the fact of the abduction of Artsakh resident Vagif Khachatryan by  Azerbaijanis.

The message posted on the bloc's Facebook page condemns the flagrant  violation of international humanitarian law and flagrant disregard  for the basic principles of humanity. The message notes that this act  not only violates the rights and dignity of innocent people,  undermines the efforts made by the International Red Cross in  assisting humanitarian operations. "Obviously, this act is aimed not  only at sowing despair among the civilian population of  Nagorno-Karabakh, but also at discrediting the reputation of the Red  Cross and hindering the implementation of an important humanitarian  mission.

The faction calls on the International Committee of the Red Cross to  take immediate and decisive measures to ensure the safe and speedy  return of Vagif Khachatryan to his family and to bring those  responsible for his abduction to justice in accordance with  international law. The "Armenia" faction also calls on the  International Committee of the Red Cross to increase its efforts to  prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in  Nagorno-Karabakh and violations of humanitarian rights in the  region>, the message emphasizes.
