ArmInfo.On July 27, WizzAir' flight W4 2892 on the Yerevan- Vienna route was delayed due to a malfunction of the aircraft, as a result of which about a hundred Russian citizens were taken out of the transit zone of the Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan.
This is stated in the statement of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Armenia, in response to numerous media appeals regarding the situation faced by Russian citizens flying on a WizzAir flight on the Yerevan-Vienna route.
"Immediately after receiving the information about the incident, the embassy took measures to settle the situation. An employee of the Consular Department of the diplomatic mission went to the airport to provide possible assistance to Russian citizens.
In cooperation with the Russian Embassy in Budapest, contact was established with the central office of WizzAir. The carrier informed that an emergency check-in was organized for the passengers of the flight in one of the hotels in Yerevan and a transfer from the airport to the hotel. Currently, the departure of the specified flight is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on July 28 this year.
The Russian Embassy in Yerevan continues to keep the situation under control," the statement of the Russian diplomatic mission in the Republic of Armenia reads. Earlier, it was reported that the above-mentioned carrier allegedly refused to transfer 100 citizens of the Russian Federation to Austria, and they were stuck at the Zvartnots airport in Yerevan without food or overnight.
