ArmInfo. On June 29, RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan took part in the event organized on the occasion of the US Independence Day.
According to the Press Service of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, in his speech the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia noted that the Independence Day of the United States reminds of the path that the United States has passed and of the great progress made by the country in upholding the principles of freedom and justice. "Our peoples, although far from each other geographically, but we are united by common values: commitment to democracy, freedom and human rights. These principles, enshrined in the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, are also close to the heart of the Armenian people, who throughout their history have struggled to promote these principles>, Mher Grigoryan said. The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the role of the American Armenian community, which through hard work and dedication has made a significant contribution to the sustainable development of American society.
Mher Grigoryan noted that a strong partnership has been established between the two countries, which has been constantly expanding and strengthening in recent years, reaching the level of a strategic dialogue. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the RA-USA partnership is based on a common vision of the fundamental principles of mutual respect, justice, peace and human dignity. He also touched upon the issue of deepening trade and economic relations with the United States and noted that in this regard there are significant opportunities and potential for cooperation, in particular, in the areas of high technology, financial banking and energy.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the United States for its support in developing democratic institutions in Armenia, strengthening the rule of law, promoting transparency and fighting corruption. He noted that currently the Armenian people are facing significant external security challenges. "And in this regard, we greatly appreciate the participation and efforts of the United States towards establishing a lasting and stable peace in the South Caucasus, the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, protecting the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh," the RA Deputy Prime Minister concluded his speech.
