The Russian delegation also included adviser to the Russian Embassy in Armenia Maxim Seleznev, high- ranking officials of various cities, director of the Moscow House center in Yerevan Vahram Karapetyan and other officials. The meeting was also attended by the managers of Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Plant CJSC.
Mr Ghukasyan drew the Russian delegation's attention to the incidents recorded on the borders of the region on June 15. "I think that what happened yesterday, in particular, the attacks by Azerbaijan on Armenian positions located in Kapan using a drone, the incident with a flag near the Hagari bridge on the sovereign territory of Armenia were a direct blow to Russia, since it is directly related to the visit to the region by such a large Russian delegation," said the governor.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues related to strengthening educational, cultural, interregional ties and deepening cooperation, the process of opening the Russian consulate in Kapan.
The side also mentioned possibilities of establishing sister city partnerships between the cities of Russia and the Syunik province of Armenia.
