ArmInfo.People forcibly displaced from Artsakh are holding a protest in front of Armenia's government, demanding that authorities honor their commitments.
According to the head of the public organization "In the name of Hadrut" Levon Hairyan, the protesters decided to change their demands. If earlier the socio-economic problem was raised, now the refugees demand from all state authorities to ensure human rights. "Today we want to appeal to the Armenian authorities, after which we will go to the UN office and the building of the French embassy. Our demand will be political in nature, we will not put forward demands of a socio-economic nature," Hayrian said, noting at the same time that none of the previously put forward demands have been implemented. There are some advances on individual issues, but there has not been, and still is not, a comprehensive solution to the problems.
The head of the public organization stressed that the requirements to the Armenian authorities are short, concise and should be clear to them.
"They boil down to ensuring that the authorities in Armenia follow the interests of the Armenian people. Otherwise, this government should resign. It is impossible for the sake of one's own interests and conveniences to keep the people in such a situation. If you do not see your future on the example of Hadrut, then look at least towards Jermuk," Hayrian stressed.
As for the march to the French embassy, as the head of the NGO reminded, the National Assembly of this country decided to open a humanitarian office in Artsakh. "By marching to the French embassy, we want to show that we are waiting for the opening of this office in Stepanakert, and if we had no expectations, we would not have gone to the protest, although we do not know whether our issues will be resolved or not. The problem is that our government of the Republic of Armenia is doing everything possible to avoid the issue of national interest," Hayrian said.
He expressed surprise at the position of the country's authorities, who hope the Russian troops will ensure security of Armenia and Artsakh and unblock the Lachin corridor linking Armenia with Artsakh. "We don't understand why then we need authorities Republic of Armenia," Hayrian said.
