ArmInfo. French President Emmanuel Macron said that the possible entry of Ukraine into NATO would be perceived by Russia as a confrontational step, however, he does not consider the scenario of Ukraine's entry into the Alliance the most probable.
"Ukraine's entry into NATO will be perceived by Russia as something confrontational: Regardless of whether Ukraine joins NATO - and this is not the most likely scenario - it will have to provide security guarantees," Macron said in an interview with the Monde newspaper, Ria Novosti reports.
In his opinion, the architecture of security and stability in the region should include not only security guarantees for Ukraine, but also for Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and then Belarus.
"We cannot think about the security of this zone only through the prism of NATO," the French leader said.
