As for the future of Armenian-Turkish relations, a lot depends on the scenarios for the development of events in Ukraine.  Viktor Nadein-Raevsky, a senior  researcher at the Institute of World Economy and International  Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences expressed a similar  opinion to ArmInfo.

"In the end, a new stage of dialogue between Yerevan and Ankara began  in Moscow. However, according to the Turkologist, taking into account the actual  equidistance of Ankara from the West and from Russia in the issue of  Ukraine, which allows it to maintain the status of a player in this  issue, it is at least premature to predict an unambiguous forecast of  the success of these calculations by the West. Which, in turn, is  absolutely no reason for Moscow to relax. Similarly, according to  Nadein- Raevsky, the current processes in Ukraine and around Ukraine,  affect Armenia. Accordingly, according to his forecasts, hard times  and problems await Armenian diplomacy in this direction.

In this light, the Russian orientalist considers it right to exclude  Armenia's special haste at this stage of the settlement process with  Turkey as a right step in the right direction.  In his opinion, the  acceleration of this process is not in Yerevan's interests at all.  Including because of his unequivocal dependence on Ukrainian  processes.  "Meanwhile, watching the latest developments in Ukraine,  we see how the Ukrainian scenario is slowly but surely moving towards  dragging out the final geopolitical denouement.
