According to the source, it was stated that the meeting held in Istanbul on March 29 had added positive momentum to the Russia-Ukraine negotiations, and it was underscored that Turkiye had assumed an important role in the termination of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
It was stressed that Turkiye, under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's leadership, would determinedly continue its diplomatic efforts in order for ceasefire to be achieved and humanitarian corridors to be opened.
The pleasure over the implementation of the Turkiye-US Strategic Mechanism was expressed, and the expectation for this mechanism to positively affect the bilateral relations was voiced.
Earlier, the US and Turkiye announced the completion of months of negotiations to establish a procedure for improving strained relations, considering the possibility of cooperation in the sectors of economy and defense. The announcement was made on the sidelines of a meeting between Victoria Nuland and Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal.
