ArmInfo.The National Assembly elected former Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan to the vacant post of Chairman of the Audit Chamber.
Janjugazyan's candidacy (he was nominated by the ruling Civil Contract faction) was supported by all 70 MPs present in the meeting room. The opposition did not take part in the voting.
The position of the head of the Audit Chamber of Armenia has become vacant since January 19, after Levon Yolyan's early resignation from this post for personal reasons. He was elected to this position in 2017 (formerly the Control Chamber), his term of office expired next year.
Atom Janjughazyan was born on March 22, 1971 in Yerevan. In 1992 Graduated from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute named after K. Marx, in 1995 - magistracy of the Higher School of the State Engineering University of Armenia. Since 1993, he worked in the Ministry of Economy of the Republic, and since 1995 - in the Ministry of Finance of Armenia. Since 1999, he has been Deputy Minister of Finance and Chief Treasurer. From May 2018 to August 3, 2021, he served as the Minister of Finance of Armenia.
