ArmInfo. On December 23, at a regular meeting, the Armenian government allocated 1.2 billion drams (about $ 2.4 million) to the Ministry of Health for the purchase of 200,000 doses of Pfizer anti-COVID vaccine.
Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan said that the vaccines will arrive in Armenia by the end of 2021. In addition, the RA authorities expect to receive new batches of vaccine as a gift from foreign partners.
At the same time, as the head of the Ministry of Health pointed out, there is no shortage of vaccines in Armenia now. As of today, 1 million 591 thousand 809 people have already been vaccinated in Armenia: 920 thousand 650 of them received the first dose of the vaccine, 670 thousand 710 - the second dose. About 500 citizens received the third, booster dose.
In addition, the government has allocated about AMD 1.3 billion to supply hospitals and pay salaries to doctors and other staff.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, admitted that he received the third dose of the COVID vaccine. He urged the citizens of the country to follow his example and already think about revaccination with the fourth dose.
