ArmInfo. In Armenia, families will be paid 50 thousand drams (about $ 100) a month for the third and subsequent child. However, they risk losing their privileges under the Paros program. The corresponding draft decision was approved on December 23 at the meeting of the RA government.
As the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan said, presenting the document, financial assistance will be provided for children born from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2026, inclusive, until the child turns six years old. The goal is to promote demographic growth and provide additional material guarantees for large families.
At the same time, as Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recalled, one-time childbirth allowances remain: for the first two children - 300 thousand drams (about $ 600), for the third - a million drams (about $ two thousand). At the birth of the third and fourth child, the lump sum is one million drams, the fifth and subsequent ones - one and a half million.
In addition, as the head of government pointed out, benefits for childcare up to two years of age in 2022 will grow by 2,100 drams - from 26,500 drams (at the current exchange rate - slightly less than $ 55) to 28,600 (slightly less than $ 60). At the same time, the allowance for caring for a child under 2 years of age in rural areas will grow from 53 thousand drams to 57 200 thousand drams, regardless of whether the mother works or not.
Pashinyan also pointed to the "fly in the ointment" in the decision - payments may affect the assessment of the social insecurity of the family. So, if a family previously enjoyed benefits being included in the "Paros" social support program, then after receiving these payments, it may be left out of this system. It should be reminded that the socially vulnerable sections of the population in Armenia use the privileges for electricity and gas, and from next year also for water.
