ArmInfo.President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the 8th global forum "World after COVID-19", once again touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, assuring that it was resolved.
In this vein, he recalled that Azerbaijan made a number of proposals to Armenia - to start work on a peace treaty, assuring that Baku intends to talk about peace, rather than war. "But, unfortunately, this proposal has so far remained unanswered," Aliyev complained, while keeping silent that all these proposals were made under the threat of the use of new force, against the background of the seizure of the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia.
The Azerbaijani leader once again spoke about the need to start the process of demarcation and delimitation of the border with Armenia in order to "ensure the territorial integrity of the two countries." According to him, all this complies with international standards. However, it is not specified what international norms the leader of this country is talking about, in whose country the international norms are never observed, especially in the field of human rights.
"But, unfortunately, this issue has not yet found its solution," Aliyev said, and to make it more plausible, he said that Azerbaijan is showing maximum constructivism in relations with Armenia. According to Aliyev, it is necessary to move forward and be ready for large-scale cooperation.
Then, the President of Azerbaijan added that the further development of the situation would depend on the position of Armenia. "Our position is definitely clear. We are ready to start peace talks and to sign a peace agreement. We want to turn this page and define the borders, but as you can see, there is no response from Armenia. We can say that they remain silent for a whole year. I think that they will not be able to resist the constructive position of Azerbaijan, "Aliyev added, once again trying to impose the position of Azerbaijan on Armenia.
