ArmInfo. In the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Supreme Patriarch, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia, Jonathan Lacote, who is completing his mission in our country.
As reported by the Mother See of Echmiadzin, Karekin II stressed that thanks to the Ambassador's successful activity, the friendly character of the Armenian-French relations became more emphasized. In this regard, the Catholicos of All Armenians in the person of Ambassador Jonathan Lacote expressed gratitude to the French authorities for the support and assistance provided to Armenia and the Armenian people both during the pandemic, and during the difficult days of the war and in the post-war period. During the meeting, he also expressed the hope that France, as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, will contribute to a just settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In turn, Jonathan Lacote thanked His Holiness for the warm welcome, stressing that his mission is to maintain the friendly relations that have developed between France and Armenia and ensure their continuity.
During the conversation, the Ambassador also noted that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict raised many issues that have not yet received due attention and assessment of the international community. In this regard, Ambassador Jonathan Lacote assured that France will continue its efforts towards a just and peaceful settlement of the problem.
