ArmInfo. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation made a decision to ban the entry into the territory of Russia for 50 years for former ambassador of Azerbaijan to Belarus, Moldova and Pakistan, Isfandiyar Vahabzade, after remarks about Russians and Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
"Today, the decisions have been made to deny entry to the Russian Federation for the term of 50 years to national of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuat Akhmetov and national of the Republic of Azerbaijan Isfandiyar Vahabzade who made public statements on the Internet stoking ethnic tensions," the ministry said in a statement.
At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia warns that foreign nationals calling for destructive actions against the Russian Federation, its citizens and compatriots living abroad, will not be allowed into the country since their stay in Russia may jeopardize public order and security. Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky himself reacted to this and noted that he would seek to bring Vahabzade to justice.
Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry assured that Vahabzade stopped working in the Foreign Ministry back in 2016 and has no connection with the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. At the same time, experts are convinced that it was no coincidence that Vahabzade attacked Russia and the Russians with criticism. Analysts believe that in this way, Azerbaijan is trying to exacerbate anti- Russian sentiments within the country. This is done both by discrediting the peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh and by various attacks on the Russian Federation. The goal is to minimize the role of Russia in the region.
