ArmInfo. Today, the indictment in the case of 13 Armenian soldiers was announced at the Baku Grave Crimes Court. Armenian citizens are accused that after the announcement of a ceasefire on November 9, 2020, they "illegally and secretly entered the Azerbaijani territory, committed terrorist-subversive and other criminal actions against the military personnel and civilians of Azerbaijan."
According to Turan, Armenian citizens Karapetyan Rafik, Gholyan Gurgen, Tadevosyan Hrayr, Maloyan Vagharshak, Yeghiazaryan Sasun, Vardanyan Arsen, Behrekyan Vahagen, Soghomonyan Sedrak, Dilanyan Arman, Martoyan Manuk, Anbardanyan Vels, Mikayelyan Andranik and Grigoryan Feliks are on trial and charged under articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan: 214.2.1,214.2.3 (terrorism committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, by an organized group or a criminal community), 228.3 (illegal arms trafficking within an organized group), 279.2 (creation of armed formations or groups not provided for by law , with the commission of attacks on enterprises, institutions, organizations or individuals) and 318.2 (illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or by an organized group).
It is reported that in mid-December, more than 60 Armenian soldiers were detained, allegedly having illegally entered Azerbaijan from Armenia. "Some of them were released, the cases of the rest were transferred to the courts. The court is also considering the cases of two groups of Armenian military from those detained in mid-December, numbering 14 and 13 people," Turan notes.
To note, Azerbaijan continues to hold more than 200 Armenian prisoners of war and civilians, in violation of the tripartite statement on November 9, 2020.
