ArmInfo. UEFA is looking for a solution to enable Russian sports commentator Nobel Arustamyan to carry out his professional coverage of the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, referring to the issue of accreditation of the Russian commentator at the World Cup. Accreditation of the commentator was blocked in Baku.
"I know that UEFA is now doing everything possible to ensure that the European Championship is organized at 100%. Particular attention is paid, of course, to the media and accreditation of journalists. In today's world, it is extremely difficult to organize such a large-scale cross-border sporting event," she said, adding, that Russia is implementing a whole range of measures to make the work of foreign correspondents as comfortable as possible during this period. At the same time, Zakharova promised to talk in detail about this activity on Thursday at a briefing.
"I also know that UEFA is looking for a solution that allows Russian sports commentator Nobel Arustamyan to carry out professional coverage of the European Championship in football. I believe that a solution will be found. We have been doing this all evening yesterday. And I can tell you that I haven't seen for a long time such a constructive attitude of all the parties involved in it, "Zakharova summed up in her Telegram channel.
To note, it became known yesterday that UEFA blocked Arustamyan's accreditation, since the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan did not agree on the candidacy of the Russian correspondent. AFFA vice-president Elkhan Mammadov linked the refusal of accreditation to Arustamyan with the journalist's repeated visits to Nagorno-Karabakh.
