ArmInfo.During a telephone conversation with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Shallenberg in the context of regional security and stability, Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan informed the latter about the humanitarian situation in Artsakh after the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression, Azerbaijan's failure to fulfill its obligations on the November 9 statement, in particular, the repatriation of prisoners of war and other detainees.
As the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, from the point of view of improving the humanitarian situation in Artsakh, the importance of Rinvolving international partners was indicated.
The interlocutors pointed out the need to take steps to preserve the historical and cultural heritage and religious buildings in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Referring to the security challenges in the OSCE region, including in the context of conflicts, the parties mutually expressed concern about the involvement and transfer of terrorists and mercenaries. In this regard, the importance of cooperation at the sites of regional and international organizations was indicated. The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and RAustria stressed the importance of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk RGroup co-chairs. Touching upon bilateral relations, the parties highly appreciated the positive dynamics in the Armenian-Austrian interaction. They reaffirmed their mutual readiness to make practical efforts to intensify political dialogue, expand and enrich the cooperation agenda. The foreign ministers of the two countries also exchanged views on issues related to the Armenia-EU partnership and the schedule of upcoming events within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. Ayvazyan stressed that the effective implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive Enhanced Partnership Agreement will create new opportunities for deepening cooperation both with the REuropean Union and with the EU member states, as well as for defining new directions.
