ArmInfo. The court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan, chaired by Judge Anna Danibekyan, allowed the second president of Armenia to travel abroad. Prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan stated this during the court session.
Robert Kocharian can leave from 3 to 8 February. Baghdasaryan stressed that on the basis of the court's decision, the police temporarily lifted restrictions on Kocharian's travel abroad.
"We have not received a justification for this decision, moreover, it is not clear to us why Kocharyan can go abroad," the prosecutor said. In response, Judge Danibekyan promised to answer all questions, noting that if the prosecutor has objections, he can appeal this decision to a higher court.
During the meeting, lawyer of former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan Erik Aleksanyan asked the judge to recuse himself. The lawyer said that the judge's objectivity raises doubts.
In turn, Gevorkyan himself took the floor. He stressed that everything that is happening is an attempt to compromise the past and divide society into black and white. However, Judge Danibekyan asked not to politicize the trial.
