ArmInfo. The Georgian government is simplifying the entry rules for foreign citizens.
As stated today, on January 29, Minister of Economy Natia Turnava, citizens of all countries vaccinated against Covid-19 will be able to freely enter Georgia.
The minister also named the countries from which visitors will be able to enter without being vaccinated, but will have to pass a PCR test at the border, and three days later the test will be repeated in Georgia.
The Georgian government calls on airlines to prevent foreign citizens from boarding who have not passed a PCR test or have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
"We need to start thinking about how to quickly bring to Georgia the first group of vaccinated foreign citizens who want to visit Georgia, for which we are gradually opening different regions of the country step by step. According to the positive index, at this stage, this is Adjara," Turnava said.
As for unvaccinated foreign guests, citizens and residents of the European Union, Israel, Switzerland, USA, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, as well as those who enter Georgia in transit from the same countries, must have a certificate of passing the PCR test in within the last 72 hours. The PCR test must also be performed on the third day after entering the country. That is, we are abolishing mandatory self- isolation, "the minister said, Georgia-online reports.
