ArmInfo. AS a result of short-sighted foreign policy of the current government of Armenia the country has faced serious challenges. This is stated in a joint statement by a group of diplomats who previously headed diplomatic missions in several countries of the world.
As noted in the statement, strategic relations with the Russian Federation were not established at the proper level, neither a close partnership was developed with Iran, China, Georgia, the United States, the European Union and in other areas of foreign policy. Direct consequence of all this was the declaration of an unprecedented defeat signed on November 9 this year. According to the authors of the statement, this document contains many ambiguities related to the legal status of the Republic of Artsakh, territorial issues, issues of unblocking communications, exchange of prisoners of war, hostages, other detainees, bodies of the dead, as well as the return of displaced persons and refugees. It is expected that the Armenian diplomacy will make every effort to ensure that the upcoming negotiation process is at the proper level. "We were given a historic opportunity to prove retrospectively that the Armenian diplomat is worthy of our soldiers and officers who showed exceptional examples of heroism on the battlefield. However, all this is possible only in the event of the resignation of the failed prime minister and his government. It is necessary to form a legitimate political government enjoying the confidence of the people, which will be guided by a foreign policy based on a deep understanding of national and state interests. It is necessary to get Armenia and Artsakh out of this difficult situation. The policy of defeat, national humiliation has no future.
The statement was signed by Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Envoys Hrayr Karapetyan, Ara Hakobyan, Rubik Hakobyan, Vardan Hakobyan, Edgar Ghazaryan, Ara Sahakyan and others. The statement is open for signing.
