ArmInfo.Armenia is grateful to all its partners for their shown participation, for the fact that they speak unequivocally from the position that the use of force or the threat of force is unacceptable. Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan stated this in an interview with Atameken Business News TV channel, referring to the situation in the zone of the Karabakh conflict.
"At this stage, we can talk only and only about the restoration of the ceasefire regime, as it was envisaged by the trilateral agreements between Azerbaijan, Artsakh and Armenia in 1994-95. After that, we can only talk about negotiations to resolve the conflict.
As for the negotiation process, which may be after the cessation of hostilities is restored in accordance with the 1994-95 treaties, today there is a format that has the mandate of the UN Security Council, this is the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship. Moreover, at the last meeting of the Security Council, an appeal was made on the one hand for an immediate ceasefire and, on the other, that the issue should be resolved within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship. The OSCE Minsk Group has already made a statement on the need for a ceasefire, after which, of course, the continuation of negotiations, "he noted.
