ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, during a telephone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, informed the latter about targeted attacks on journalists covering the situation in Artsakh.
As reported by the RA MFA press service, Mnatsakanyan also informed his colleague about the state of the French journalists targeted by Azerbaijan. The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and France touched upon the situation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which emerged as a result of a large-scale armed attack by Azerbaijan. In this context, Mnatsakanyan expressed deep concern over the destabilizing activities of extra-regional forces, expressing particular concern over the unconditional, unilateral military assistance provided by Turkey to Azerbaijan. The interlocutors stressed the inadmissibility of the direct involvement of foreign terrorist fighters in the conflict.
During the conversation, the sides also touched upon the statement of the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, which called for an immediate cessation of hostilities. The Armenian Foreign Minister pointed out the important role of the co-chairs and co-chair countries in neutralizing threats to regional security.
Earlier, both French President Emmanuel Macron and the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated that there was evidence of the participation of mercenaries from Syria and Libya in hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. This was also stated at all levels in Armenia. The evidence of their involvement in the conflict is also published in the media.
