ArmInfo.Armenia will consistently develop and deepen relations with its strategic partners. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a government meeting on September 24.
According to him, discussions on the second stage of the strategic dialogue with the United States of America will begin soon.
The head of the Armenian government expressed the hope that the COVID-19 pandemic will not introduce any restrictions on these discussions.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that Armenia is consistently developing and deepening relations with the Russian Federation, the European Union, the United States, Iran and Georgia. To note, the Eurasian Economic Union also occupies important place in this list, the intergovernmental council of which will be held in October in Yerevan. "Traditionally, these relations are very warm, and we intend to continue active work to deepen them," Nikol Pashinyan emphasized.
Earlier, ArmInfo reported that Armenia has hired former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kansas) and the Alston & Bird law firm to help the country prepare for bilateral talks to be held in Washington next month. The contract, dated Sept. 15, is worth $10,000 and lasts one month. It was signed by Dole, a longtime friend of Armenia who is now a special counsel at Alston & Bird, and Armenian Ambassador to the United States Varuzhan Nersesyan. The former senator himself noted that he intends to help Armenia in its efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership with the United States in advance of the planned diplomatic negotiations in October 2020.
