ArmInfo. The bodies carrying out investigative actions are not looking for documents regarding violations of a particular party or any specific elections. Prosecutor General of Armenia Arthur Davtyan stated this from the rostrum during the discussion of the petition for depriving head of the Prosperous Armenia party, MP Gagik Tsarukyan, of parliamentary immunity.
He emphasized that criminal cases are instituted in accordance with specific criminal procedure standards. "And when, as part of the investigative actions, the facts are revealed that some political force gave bribes during the election campaign, it does not matter we which specific party it is," the Prosecutor General emphasized.
To note, yesterday in social networks a screenshot of an unofficial report appeared, which presumably testifies to the distribution of election bribes by Gagik Tsarukyan in the Gegharkunik region of Armenia. Minister of Healthcare of Armenia Arsen Torosyan published this screenshot.
Davtyan informed that the materials in this case were discovered as part of another case that was in no way connected with the Prosperous Armenia Party and bribes. <If in another criminal case we find violations committed by other parties, they will also receive a corresponding response. We are not hunting for anyone,> he said.
As for the fact that the investigative documents were falling into the hands of the MPs from the ruling faction, and then on the Facebook social network, the Prosecutor General noted that the investigating authority, which is involved in the production of the case, has every right to decide how much details can be submitted for one or another case. <Naturally, when publishing certain documents, the possible risks for the investigation are also taken into account. This is our authority, moreover, it is our responsibility. We are obliged to inform the public about criminal cases pending. If there were a leak of secret investigative data, then this would be unacceptable, and this would be followed by appropriate punishment>, Davtyan emphasized.
In turn, press secretary of head of the Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan, Iveta Tonoyan, stated that there is no evidence that this screenshot is a document. According to her, everyone in social networks can write anything, and not always such records correspond to reality.
