ArmInfo. While on a visit to Brussels, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the Vice President of the European Commission, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.
As the press service of the Government of Armenia reports, during the meeting the interlocutors noted the importance of intensive development of Armenia-EU relations and discussed issues related to further support of the reforms implemented in various areas of Armenia.
Joseph Borrell reaffirmed the readiness of the European Union to support the implementation of reforms. He welcomed the development in Armenia in the fight against corruption, judicial and other fields, as well as decisive and consistent steps by the Armenian government in this direction.
As an important component of Armenia-EU cooperation, the Prime Minister of Armenia and Josep Borrell considered it necessary to ratify the Member States of the Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership and its full application.
The interlocutors also touched upon the possibilities of starting a dialogue on visa liberalization between Armenia and the European Union.
The parties also exchanged views on the negotiation process on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Josep Borrell reaffirmed the EU support for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
