ArmInfo. The criminal case against former Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ara Babloyan and former deputy head of the parliament's apparatus Arsen Babayan has been sent to court.
To recall, earlier the Prosecutor's Office returned the criminal case against Babloyan and Babayan for further investigation. This was justified by the fact that the acts of the accused fall under the articles on abuse of power and official forgery. In the case of Babloyan, this is part 2 of article 308 and part 1 of article 314 of the RA Criminal Code, and in the case of Babayan - part 1 of article 314 and part 2 of Article 38- 308 of the RA Criminal Code. We add that earlier Babloyan and Babayan were charged with usurping power.
According to the Special Investigation Service, there is evidence that in March 2018, in the process of Gagik Harutyunyan's resignation of the powers as the President of the Constitutional Court, officials, based on group interests, personally and also through non-officials committed official forgery to appoint Hrayr Tovmasyan as head of the Constitutional Court. In fact, a criminal case was instituted in which Babloyan and Babayan were charged.
