ArmInfo. Newly appointed Ambassador of Cyprus to the RA Andreas Zenonos (residence in Moscow) handed over copies of credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Avet Adonts.
As the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reported to ArmInfo, at the meeting, Adonts highly assessed the Armenian-Cypriot interstate relations. Wishing the Ambassador success in his mission, the deputy FM also expressed hope that the Ambassador would give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Cyprus.
In turn, the Cypriot diplomat assured that he would make every effort to promote and expand the exemplary relations between Armenia and Cyprus.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, touched upon interaction on international platforms, development of trade and economic relations, as well as steps to expand cooperation in such areas as tourism and culture.
The parties also touched upon the preparations for the upcoming Armenia-Greece-Cyprus tripartite summit, emphasizing the importance of this format of cooperation not only for the above three countries, but also in terms of stimulating regional peace, stability and prosperity.
The importance of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, which opens up new opportunities for deepening the possibilities in bilateral and multilateral formats, was mutually indicated.
During the conversation, issues of a regional and European agenda of mutual interest were raised. The parties presented the latest process in the priority foreign policy issues of their states.
