According to the press service of the Romanian Embassy in Armenia, the Armenian chess player Levon Aronian won the sixth stage of the Grand Chess Tour in Bucharest.
In the blitz tournament, which was held on Saturday and Sunday, the best result was shown by Vietnamese Le Quang Liem and Russian Sergey Karjakin, who scored 11 points each. Based on the results of the rapid and blitz competitions, Karjakin and Aronian shared the first place in the overall standings, gaining 20 points. The strongest was determined at a tie-break, where Aronian defeated Karjakin - 1.5-0.5. The next stage of the Grand Chess Tour will be held in Calcutta (India) from November 22 to 26.
