ArmInfo. Prosperous Armenia faction does not express its point of view on the initiative of the My Step bloc to terminate the powers of President of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan. On October 2, in an interview with reporters, said head of the "My step" bloc Lilit Makunts.
She noted that the My Step bloc did not understand the reason why the PAP decided not to express a position on this issue. Nevertheless, according to her, the "My Step" bloc will have to accept such a position of the PAP into account.
Makunts also commented on the statements of the head of Prosperous Armenia Gagik Tsarukyan that the National Assembly should not deal with the termination of the powers of the head of the Constitutional Court. "On this issue, I agree with Gagik Tsarukyan, but the parliament does not make a decision on this issue. The parliament just presented the initiative that the Constitutional Court will consider and it will solve this issue," the head of the "My Step" bloc emphasized.
It should be noted that today in a conversation with reporters, head of the Prosperous Armenia faction Gagik Tsarukyan said in an interview with reporters that the PAP will not take part in the voting on the draft termination of the powers of the head of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan.
To recall, on September 24 the Permanent Parliamentary Commission on State and Legal Issues gave a positive conclusion to the initiative of the "My Step" bloc to appeal to the Constitutional Court to terminate the powers of President of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan.
To recall, the parliament will be able to make a decision on appeal to the Constitutional Court only after discussing the issue by secret ballot at a 3/5 vote ratio. However, the final decision will be made by the CC itself. This requires the votes of at least six judges.
