ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan during his visit to New York, on the margins of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, held talks with Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne - Minister of State to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
As the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia reported to ArmInfo, the parties touched upon a wide range of issues on the agenda of the Armenian-French special relations. The interlocutors mutually positively assessed the periodic visits and contacts between the parties at the highest and highest levels, which give a new impetus to effective dialogue and the development of diversified cooperation.
The meeting also covered the issues relating to the Armenia-EU partnership. The two officials highlighted the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement which serves as a legal base for the cooperation. In this context the Armenian Foreign Minister emphasized the need to promote contacts between the peoples and launch the dialogue on visa liberalization.
The sides exchanged views on the agenda of the ministerial conference of the International Organization of La Francophonie which will be held in Moscow in October and the events dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the organization next year. Minister Mnatsakanyan reaffirmed Armenia's readiness to contribute to overcoming the challenges facing the organization and spreading its values.
Touching upon the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Mnatsakanyan introduced his recent meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister in New York, expressing gratitude to France for the efforts aimed at peacefully settling the conflict together with the remaining Co-Chair counties of the OSCE MG - Russia and the United States.
