ArmInfo. On September 19 this year in the city of Yeghegnadzor of the Vayots- Dzor region, the official opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Armenia took place.
The ceremony was held with the participation of the Governor of Vayots-Dzor T. Sargsyan, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Portugal in the Republic of Armenia S. Samuelian, representatives of regional and city authorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the Kazakh Embassy and the media. In his opening speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia Timur Urazaev noted that, in addition to resolving consular and legal issues, the opening of the diplomatic mission in the Vayots Dzor region of Armenia demonstrates the interest of the Kazakh side in deepening and developing trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The Governor of the region T. Sargsyan, in turn, emphasized that on the eve of the 28th anniversary of the Independence of Armenia, the opening of the Honorary Consulate testifies to the serious desire of Kazakhstan to expand and strengthen bilateral contacts in every possible way, and today's event should be regarded as a logical result of the consistent and purposeful development of relations between Kazakhstan and Armenia.
In turn, the Honorary Consul A. Abrahamyan assured those present at the ceremony that he would fully assist in the development of trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, sports, educational ties and contacts between ordinary citizens of the two countries.
The consular district in Yeghegnadzor covers the territory of Vayots-Dzor and Kotayk regions.
