In response to a request from a ArmInfo correspondent, press secretary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Lusine Martirosyan informed, commenting on the information circulated in the Armenian media that the Russian side asked Armenia to ensure the safety of the President of the Russian Federation when visiting one of the penitentiaries as part of his working visit to Armenia.
"This information does not correspond to reality, we did not receive any request from the Russian side in this regard," Martirosyan said.
It should be noted that today information appeared in the Armenian media that the Russian side, as part of the planned visit to Armenia by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, asked to ensure his safety when visiting one of the penitentiaries. In the Armenian media, information has long been circulated that during his visit to Armenia Putin intends to meet with the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharian , who is in prison on charges of overthrowing the constitutional order.
It should be noted that the visit of the Russian leader is planned within the framework of the EAEU summit in Yerevan, which will take place from September 30 to October 1.
