ArmInfo. Head of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan, does not agree with the opinion of President of the Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan that he, being a MP, is engaged in business activities.
In an open letter, Tsarukyan, in particular, noted that from the moment a ban was introduced on conducting an entrepreneurial activity by a MP, he had handed over all his commercial organizations to trust management. "At the moment, my shares are also in trust. It should be noted that the transfer of property (property rights) to trust management does not entail the transfer of ownership, and the trust manager is obliged to manage the property in the interests of the founder. That is, after the transfer of property in trust management, the owner reserves the right to receive dividends.
Tsarukyan noted that perhaps this opinion was coordinated due to the fact that he, as the owner of the largest cement plant, made a statement that he agreed to reduce the price of cement by 10.000 drams per ton, <this was my first step towards an economic revolution>. "That is, I am ready to incur losses, which is the right of the owner," said the MP.
He put forward another suggestion that perhaps doubts had crept in Mirzoyan's mind after Tsarukyan had told about his meetings with investors. "If this is so, I want to remind you that the investment policy is one of the main directions of the economic policy of the Armenian government. The Prosperous Armenia Party has repeatedly expressed its readiness to promote investment policy. I, as the head of the party, used all my authority in foreign countries to attract investors to Armenia. To acquaint investors with the priority areas in our country, I met with foreign investors, and they highly appreciated my opinion. Consequently, my meetings with investors also cannot be regarded as entrepreneurial activity, " Tsarukyan noted.
Summarizing, Tsarukyan once again noted that he does not occupy any position in any of his commercial organizations. "I don't participate in the management of any of them. Moreover, I disagree with your assessment of" fair concerns and reasonable suspicions ", as well as your hints that I, through" hidden mechanisms ", carry out direct management of enterprises" - said Tsarukyan, once again noting that he constantly used his reputation for the benefit of the country's economic development.
The MP noted that his party in the Armenian parliament represents the interests of thousands of voters. "The Prosperous Armenia Party will be the voice of the people in the National Assembly. And we will act in the interests of our voters, our people," he stressed. In conclusion, the MP noted that the identification of the leader of the political force Gagik Tsarukyan, the MPGagik Tsarukyan and the owner Gagik Tsarukyan is inadmissible.
To note, last week President of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan expressed concern over the public opinion that MP Gagik Tsarukyan is engaged in business activities. While the laws of the country prohibit a deputy to do business.
To recall, the "Citizen's Decision" party sent to the Prosecutor General of Armenia Arutur Davtyan and President of Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan a statement in which they are asking to start criminal prosecution against the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, MP Gagik Tsarukyan.
Representatives of the party noted that based on a number of statements by Tsarukyan, it turns out that he, despite being a deputy, continues to engage in entrepreneurial activities, which is against the law. Party representatives ask for clarification of the case, and if these suspicions are confirmed, deprive Tsarukyan of his mandate and investigate the case in detail.
