ArmInfo. The statement of the Minister of Defense David Tonoyan about the implementation of the new wording "new war - new territories" was quite reasonable, and there is nothing unusual in it. Member of the ARF <Dashnaktsutyun> Bureau Kiro Manoyan announced this on April 2 at a press conference.
He stressed that the statement of the Minister of Defense was expected, exactly like the statement of the head of the National Security Council of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan, made last in Artsakh. "We need to understand that these statements are not made by diplomats, but by the heads of the structures responsible for the security of the country. The heads of the security structures are not obliged to play diplomacy. It is very important that they made such bold statements," Manoyan stressed.
Dashnaktsakan also noted that such statements are unlikely to qualify for the negative assessment of Prime Minister Pashinyan, since they reflect the position of the country's law enforcement agencies. "Obviously, Tonoyan voiced this statement so that it would be heard in Azerbaijan, and Baku's reaction became evidence that Tonoyan was heard. Also, the Minister of Defense made it clear that the" territory for peace" formulation was relevant during the time of Levon Ter Petrosyan, but now, this issue is no longer discussed in Armenia," concluded Manoyan.
To note, at a meeting with the Armenian community of New York, Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan, in particular, said: "The formulation for the territory in exchange for peace" has changed. I reformulated it to the formulation "new war for new territories", "the minister said.
To recall, today at the Yerablur memorial complex, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that if the Minister of Defense would make another statement, he would release him from his post.
