Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Arevik Anapiosyan was elected a member of the Bureau of the Council of Europe Committee on Educational Policies and Practices (CDPPE), thus becoming the first official representative of Armenia in this authoritative structure. According to the press service of the ministry, only 4 of the 50 member states of the Committee are elected by the members of the Bureau.
CDPPE is the body that makes important decisions and determines the content of the Committee's agenda. The Council of Europe has a number of fundamental conventions in the field of education, to which Armenia has joined, implementing programs at all stages of education.According to the source, the 11th plenary meeting of the CDPPE started on March 19 in Strasbourg and will run until March 22. High- ranking officials from 50 countries were invited to the event.Note that the steering committee on education policy and practice supervises Council of Europe programs in the field of education and makes recommendations to the Committee of Ministers on education.
