ArmInfo. On March 13, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk also attended the meeting.
According to the press service of the government, Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that Armenia attaches importance to the role of the OSCE in ensuring security in the region, respecting human rights and promoting sustainable development. He stressed that Armenia is ready to support the promotion of the priorities of the Slovakia's chairmanship in the OSCE.
Nikol Pashinyan expressed hope that active cooperation with the OSCE will contribute to the effective implementation of the reform program of the Armenian government and the strengthening of democracy in our country.At the meeting, the parties touched upon a number of issues on the OSCE agenda, stressing the need to jointly solve the problems facing the organization. Prime Minister Pashinyan reaffirmed Armenia's support for an exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship and presented the approaches and principled position of Armenia on this issue. He also touched on the next steps in the peace process. The parties stressed the importance of creating an atmosphere conducive to establishing peace, stimulating people-to-people contacts, taking steps to introduce mechanisms to reduce risks and prevent incidents, and conduct measures to strengthen mutual trust.
