The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lakot said this at a press conference on March 13, stressing the importance of holding an event, which is consonant with the opening of the season of Francophone in Armenia.

Armenia annually takes part in this festival. In his speech, Lakot stressed that French cuisine is an integral part of the culture and value system of this country. "For France, the gastronomic sphere has an economic advantage, but for us this area also has social significance," the French ambassador said, recalling that the famous French cuisine is on the list of the World's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity compiled by UNESCO. <We are not limited to what is on our plate, for us the serving of the dish, its approach is of great importance. And the most important thing is this meal creates an atmosphere of warmth, gathering around itself relatives and relatives. And we want to share these values also with Armenia, since it and France are those countries that have great potential in this sphere, countries that prefer a high-quality product. For Armenians, like the French, cooking is more than a meal that has a profound impact on social and family traditions, "the ambassador added, expressing appreciation for the great interest of Armenian restaurants in French cuisine.
The diplomat also on the part of the French Embassy expressed readiness to contribute to the successful implementation of the program, which starts from March 18 in Gyumri and March 20 in Yerevan. "We are grateful that this year, 6 restaurants of the city of Gyumri and another restaurant of the city of Dilijan expressed their desire to take part in the festival. A distinctive feature of the festival this year is that it will be held outside the embassy of France and the Armenian capital, in particular - on March 18 at the "Our Lady of Armenia" educational center in Gyumri, and on March 20 at the French-Armenian professional center, "explained Lakot , stressing that the main purpose of the gastronomic festival is to train and improve the professional skills of chefs. Armenia was recognized as a country that fully complies with this system of values, the Ambassador concluded.
